Alicia Taliaferro is a Business Development Specialist for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), where she serves as chief liaison for chambers of commerce and economic development entities throughout the State of Texas. Alicia works on behalf of TxDOT with the Office of the Governor Economic Development & Tourism, on transportation issues to promote and attract domestic expansion and recruitment of business in Texas.
Her background includes twenty-seven years in sales and marketing in the private sector, with employers, Morgan-Stanley, Xerox Corporation, and Southwestern Bell.
Throughout her professional career Alicia found time to give back to the Austin community, serving on volunteer boards, such as Austin-Area Urban League, Habitat for Humanity, and the City of Austin- Human Rights Commission. Alicia’s passion is working with diverse groups building consensus and advocating for the common good.
A native Austinite, Alicia graduated from the University of Texas, School of Business, and later returned to serve as Treasurer of Texas Exes-Alumni Association, where she is a lifetime member.
In her spare time, Alicia enjoys reading, watching drama flicks, and spending time with her family.
